weight loss

So I started this whole plan to lose weight in February. I slacked most of that month but picked it back up. I have been eating healthier and going to the gym. I have lost 15 lbs since the beginning of February. I'm hoping to lose at least 40 more eventually. I'm really not in a rush though. I just want to be healthy, and I'm glad I'm finally on the right pace.

So I've decided this year that I am going to spend my Thanksgiving volunteering. Especially with the way the economy is going this year, there is a lot of people that are less fortunate than me. I never lived a lavish lifestyle, my parents have gone through some bad financial times, but I've always had a place to live, clothes to wear, and food to eat. I don't know how it is to be like some of these other people that have to make the decision on where they will sleep or how they will eat every night. It's time for me to give back. Volunteering and donating makes me feel good, I like to help people because I would like to think that if something was to happen to me or a family member that there would be people out there that would help.

If anyone knows of any places, let me know. I'm going to be making some phone calls this afternoon.

Also please remember:
There is a program called cell phones for soldiers, they collect old cell phones and recycle them to purchase calling cards for soldiers that are overseas. Recently, a member of the Weymouth Elks had collected 500 cell phones to donate to the program. The day he was preparing to donate them,his car with all the cell phones was stolen. To replace the cell phones and give more, the Haverhill Elks are trying to collect them as well. I figured that some of you might have some old ones laying around or know someone who does. If you could please let me know and I will gladly pick them up from you.
